Guns N’ Roses may find themselves embroiled in a new legal battle, TMZ has learned. A representative speaking on the band’s behalf stated that it was “tremendously disappointing, sad, and unfortunate,” that someone chose to leak music from their earlier years without permission.
Reportedly, a music business executive is threatening to sue the Guns and Roses fan, Rick Dunsford, who supposedly leaked many of their songs after finding them in a storage unit location owned by UMG. They own the copyrights.
They’re now looking to drop a hefty lawsuit on the head of Mr. Dunsford. The legal team for UMG filed a cease and desist notice to the man, acquired by TMZ, which claims he violated an agreement they once had after they paid him approximately $15,000 to give back the songs.

Reportedly, the ordeal first started when Tom Zutaut, who used to be an A&R guy, auctioned off a storage unit containing many of the band’s songs from the period between 2000 and 2001. Rick, who was a huge fan of Guns and Roses, stated he and other fans offered to buy the storage unit for fifteen-thousand dollars.
Once the group’s management found out about the transaction, they offered to pay $15,000 in exchange for it. UMG accused Rick of uploading the songs onto the internet shortly after striking a deal with him, however, Rick alleged he was the one to tell them about the leaks right from the beginning.
Furthermore, Guns And Roses actually banned him from all future concerts. As fans of the group know, Guns N’ Roses were one of the most popular rock bands of the late 1980s and early 1990s, with albums like Appetite For Destruction, G’N’R Lies, Use Your Illusion 1, and Use Your Illusion 2.
