According to the pop star, Miley Cyrus, marriage and children have never been one of her top priorities. The singer-songwriter made her surprising claim not long after she and her ex-husband, Chris Hemsworth, divorced.
During her appearence on The Morning Mash Up on SiriusXM Hits 1, Miley explained that following her marriage and divorce with Hemsworth – whom she reportedly lost her virginity too – she probably won’t be tying the knot again.
The 27-year-old singer explained how she was “sure” many of her fans would pull up old videos when she was 12-years-old explaining how she wanted kids, but in reality, knowing what she knows now, she understands that raising a family isn’t for her.
Cyrus explained, “that has never been kind of my priority.” The pop-star also claimed that even if she wanted to have kids sometime in the future, she’d probably just adopt a child rather than have one of her own.
Part of the motivation for her choice is climate change and environmentalism. Miley says she’d like to take care of another human who’s already on the earth because there are plenty of children already who need someone to take care of them.

The singer-songwriter added an important caveat, however. She claimed it’s not her intention to shame other people who choose to have their own children. Regardless, these days, Miley is more focused on herself rather than family.
The star, after her Liam split, has been dating Cody Simpson, although that relationship came to an end as well. Miley went on to say that she doesn’t think about marriage or relationships anymore.
She “follows a lot of feminists online,” and has learned that men aren’t asked the same questions when they get into their late 20s and early 30s. Cyrus insinuated the question in itself presupposed a certain cultural norm.

Cyrus went on to say that she believes men aren’t subjected to the same pressure to have children and get married. As it was previously reported, Miley and Liam split up last year and she had a brief fling with Kaitlynn Carter afterward.
